Where did Goat Yoga Originate?
Where did Goat Yoga originate? April first put the goats on her back for added weight, while performing various exercises and yoga poses. The goats soon became trained to jump on her back on command. Thus goat yoga was born. Sarah, certified yoga instructor, cooincidentally was working on her own type of unique workouts. Yoga was becoming more popular with props, so she started a paddleboard yoga business. During the winter off season, Sarah was thinking of new ideas for yoga with props. Since April was already working out with her goats, they decided to combine their two passions and create Goat Yoga! What first started out as a small‐ 8 person class of Goat Yoga/ Boot Camp, has evolved into weekly sold out classes of 150 participants and waiting lists full of goat‐loving yogis, and, being only 30 minutes from the Phoenix sky harbor airport, Goat Yoga has become a popular tourist destination in Arizona!
! – paddle-board Yoga.
Creatively thinking of new props for yoga, and knowing April had
extraordinary acrobatic goats, Sarah came up with the idea, and the concept of combing yoga with goats naturally came to be.

A little history: February is a special month for Goat Yoga! February 7th, 2015 was the first day goats
were officially trained in yoga activity‐ It has since spread across the entire world. In February of 2015,
on a little farm in Gilbert Arizona, the founding seeds of Goat Yoga were planted. The idea of goats
jumping on your back was truly inspired. April Gould trained baby goats, with the intention, of having
them jump on and run across the backs of yogi’s during various poses, for the hit TV show American
Ninja Warrior. She was then featured on the show and dubbed the “Goat Whisperer” as seen in this IMDB
